SOUTH TEXAS: GROUND ZERO
Forgotten Communities.
Broken Systems.
Real Consequences.

The Crisis in South Texas
No One is Talking About
And someone
has to fix it.
My name is Eileen Day.
I’m running for Congress in Texas District 28 — South Texas.
South Texas is drowning in a crisis that’s been ignored for decades —
and the consequences don’t stop at the border.
Stray dogs flooding the streets.
Shelters pushed past capacity.
Animals abandoned, dumped, and left to suffer.
But this isn’t just about animals.
It’s about neglect — and what happens when
systems fail, communities are left behind
and no one is accountable.
What starts in South Texas doesn’t stay in South Texas.
Why I’m Running
I didn’t set out to run for Congress.
I first stepped into animal rescue because I saw a problem that no one wanted to own.
Overrun shelters, overworked rescues, and entire communities left to fend for themselves.
What I didn’t expect to see was how deeply this
failure is connected to everything else:
Public Safety, disease, economy,
resources, accountability and trust.
When systems break, people pay the price.
I’m a Republican. I believe in loyalty.
Republicans should stand together and advance
President Trump’s agenda, not their own.
Border security, the economy, and
accountability are not just buzz words.
President Trump is not afraid to step into hard problems — even the ones many politicians avoid because
they don’t fit neatly into talking points.
Real leadership is about stepping into problems
other people avoid, and fixing them.
What South Texas Needs Right Now
Some candidates “talk”.
Others take responsibility.
The immense stray animal population in South Texas is where I saw leadership failure up close —
and where I learned how this problem is feeding
into the other issues communities are struggling
with, and those problems are bleeding into
the nation.
South Texas needs leadership that knows
how to get things done.
Someone like Trump, who isn’t afraid to face them head on.
Someone who takes action.
That’s the difference this moment demands.
